Each of the three trio have their own struggles with the war, and each of them share some of those struggles. Yes, Ron’s blood is ‘safe’. But is his family, the greatest blood traitors of all, safe? No. He follows his best friends into a war, away from all that he loves because it’s what he believes is right, what has to happen, he can’t let Harry do it on his own. But he is leaving behind his family without knowing if he will ever see them again. He has to live knowing that while he is off fighting, they are fighting too. Surrounded by the enemy, being constantly watched and followed. I think that’s really something that gets overlooked. I am not from a big family, but if I was away and my entire family was in danger, it would be crippling to be honest. And I think that Ron’s flaws are an integral part of him. They show what he has come from, the underlying feelings of inferiority while growing up. They ring true to a seventeen year old teenager in love. In love in a war. I think a lot when people read they forget that these characters are children, and I think that Ron, as the most immature, takes a lot of the heat.SHIP: Hemione Jean Granger. I could probably also see Luna [ whom I ship with pretty much everyone/anyone ] in some weird alternate life after HBP. But I can’t really see past Hermione. I can see where people attempt to poke holes in what their future would be, but to me it’s all about growth. They bicker and have tiffs, but they wouldn’t be the same people after the war. They would heal together. Their future would be slightly different than the epilogue if I had my way, but the same general idea. OTP of all OTPs.PLATONIC SHIP: Harry. Harry would be the first. They just care so much for one another. Ron was able to give Harry something he never had, to be able to show him the love of a family. It’s just criminally underplayed. Also, Ginny. I just have this very specific headcanon where when they were kids, they really had to stick together because they were the youngest. And they would steal Fred and George’s hand-me-down brooms from the shed and fly them around together.WISHFUL CANON: I read this on Tumblr somewhere, and it was everything I didn’t realize I wanted. I really wish that Ron would have been a chance in the battle, something tied back to his knack for strategy in the Philosopher’s Stone. I believe that Ron is just as brave as Harry and Hermione, for the reasons in number one, and I wish that there would have been a clear cut moment that was his [ other than destroying the necklace ], because they all fought so hard to get to that point.
